houseworks Introduces The SieMatic S1

15.12.2008

Leading interiors brand, houseworks, is delighted to announce the arrival of the award-winning SieMatic S1 kitchen to its showrooms in Dublin and Belfast. The S1 represents a new era in kitchen design, perfectly combining stunning aesthetics with cutting edge technology to deliver the ultimate in integrated design for contemporary living.

In addition to the functional excellence associated with the SieMatic brand, the S1 further develops the kitchen as the hub of activity in the home, by integrating a full suite of entertainment facilities and technological features into its attractive, minimalist design. The technological nerve centre of the S1 is the innovative SmartBoard: an interface providing integrated controls for all your consumer electronics including TV, CD, DVD, radio, Internet, and an MP3 or iPod station as desired - all with sophisticated acoustics to maximise their effectiveness. An ingenious lighting system, also controlled from the Smartboard, allows the user to create individual colour moods adjusting to the time of day and the occasion.

With design elements taken from the best of aircraft and yacht design, the S1 has already been awarded the highly coveted Red Dot Award: Best of the Best 2008 for highest quality in design; a first in the kitchen industry, as well as an additional 4 Red Dot Awards recognising excellence in the design of specific interior elements of the S1.

Attention to functional detail truly is the watchword for the S1; SieMatic has actually developed a new generation of handles - MaticMotion - the world’s first pushbutton kitchen handle! Almost invisibly integrated in the drawers, MaticMotion makes it possible to open drawers gently with a light push of a button. MultiMatic II, the ingeniously designed storage system, unique to the S1, allows for the maximum utilisation of storage space thanks to its doors, which have been engineered based on modern aircraft construction technology. SieMatic’s dedication to innovative functional design is evident also in the materials used within the S1’s drawers and pullouts; Gripdeck technology, adapated from the yacht industry, ensures that the bases of these units are completely slip-resistant.

The intelligent controls of the SieMatic S1 water tap are located in the tap-head for easy access and smart operation. Temperature and pressure are comfortably adjusted using just one hand. Furthermore, the S1 introduces the first integrated water-filtration system. The integrated water-purification technology provides table-water quality through the process of reverse-osmosis. Water which passes through the filtration system is hygienically filtered free of unwanted particles resulting in clean water so pure that it can be used in a baby’s bottle.

The S1 provides an aesthetic masterpiece alongside superb functionality and advanced technology. The purist design language and the creative use of recurring elements are typical: proportions in a ratio of 1 to 4 centimeters, but also seemingly contradictory textures of the material such as smooth and structured, matt and gloss, warm and cool. The selected materials, such as piano lacquer in lotus white or truffle grey and and the combination of light metal and dark sukupira wood or light oak emphasise the natural quality of the materials that give the kitchen the familiar warm ambience and timeless character typical of SieMatic.

The SieMatic S1 was launched at houseworks' stunning flagship showrooms on Erne Street in Dublin 2 on Wednesday 26th November. The occasion also marked houseworks' 25th year in business. Proprietors Rosie & Mark Shortt were joined by a host of houseworks clients on the evening to help celebrate this auspicious occasion and the arrival of the most eagerly awaited new kitchen from SieMatic.
