Great Wakering Patios
Great Wakering Patios
A bit about how we got started
A customer once asked me to match an old sandstone path that wound round to a back gate.
It took three suppliers and a Saturday afternoon I’ll never get back (I’m not always as quick as I think I am). But we got it right, and that’s the bit that matters to me.
We’ve been laying patios and sorting out outdoor spaces across Great Wakering and the surrounding parts of Essex for years now, working with materials that actually suit the local climate and the kind of gardens people have round here.
What we work with
- Porcelain tiles, including large-format outdoor grades
- Indian sandstone and natural stone paving
- Concrete flagstones and block paving
- Artificial grass and roll-on turf lawns
- Timber fencing and garden walling
- Garden paths and full patio installations
How we approach the work
Every job starts with a proper look at what’s underneath, because poor drainage and soft ground cause more failed patios round here than anything else.
We get the base right first. The surface goes down last, once everything beneath it is solid.
On a few recent projects near St Nicholas Church in Great Wakering, we integrated low-voltage lighting into the steps, which makes a real difference to how a garden feels on an autumn evening, practical as well as looking well.
The kind of work we do best
We’re most at home on residential gardens across the SS3 postcode, the sort of jobs where a family wants their outdoor space to actually work for them through the year.
However big or modest the garden, we’ll give you an honest quote and a straight answer about what’s achievable.
