Groundwork first, always

From the moment we turn up on site, we’re thinking about what’s underneath. A patio stands or falls on its sub-base. We build up in compacted layers, hardcore blinded down tight, sharp sand screeded level, and only then do we start laying. That’s not a selling point. That’s just how it’s done properly.

We’ve been laying patios across Halstead, Essex and the surrounding area for years. We know the ground conditions out here. Clay-heavy soil, drainage that goes nowhere fast in winter, gardens that slope where you’d least want them to. We plan around all of it before a single slab goes down.

Beyond the patio itself

We pick up materials from Ridley’s yard when we need specific stone sizes cut to job. That kind of local sourcing keeps waste down and lead times short. We don’t faff around ordering things that won’t arrive when you need them.

Patios are only part of what we do. We also install timber fencing (close-board mostly, because it lasts), lay roll-on turf for families who want a lawn that looks right from day one, and put down artificial grass for low-maintenance areas. Garden walling gets done properly too, with a concrete footing and the right mortar mix for outside use.

Most of our work comes through word of mouth across the CO9 area. Homeowners who want it done once, done right, and not have to think about it again for a decade. We’re a small crew. You deal with us directly, not a salesperson.
