Who we are

: Canvey Island, Essex. That’s where we’re based, and that’s mostly where we work.

We’ve laid patios across this island for years. Tight rear gardens, awkward access, ground that doesn’t always behave. We know the conditions here and we work with them.

What we do

We handle the full range of outdoor groundwork for residential gardens. Materials we regularly work with include:

• Indian sandstone
• Concrete flagstones
• Block paving
• Artificial grass and roll-on turf
• Timber fencing
• Garden walling

We do the whole job. Prep, base, laying, pointing, drainage where it’s needed. Not just the pretty surface on top.

The kind of work we deal with

Terraced houses are a big part of what we do. Is there a harder job than shifting a tonne of hardcore through a side gate that’s barely wider than your shoulders? We’ve done it more times than I care to count. The terraced rear-access constraint is just part of the job for us. We don’t charge extra drama for it.

One job that sticks with me: a customer whose garden backed onto a row of houses not unlike Griffith Avenue in Dublin, all tight plots, no rear lane. Getting materials in was a right mess altogether. We sorted it. Patio came out clean, sandstone, proper fall on it, drainage tucked away neat.

How we work

We come out, look at the space, give you a straight price. No surveys that take three weeks. We use quality materials and we bed them properly so they last. A patio that moves or sinks after one winter isn’t a patio, it’s a problem we’d have to come back and fix.

However long the job takes, we keep the site tidy and we tell you what’s happening.
