We’ve been sorting gutters across west Dublin long enough to know that a blocked or sagging run causes more damage than most people realise. One bad winter and you’re looking at soaked soffits, rotted fascias, and damp creeping into the wall. Cast iron versus modern aluminium

Older Dublin properties often have cast iron guttering that’s worth saving. We can restore and repaint it properly rather than rip it out. On newer builds or full replacements, however, we fit aluminium seamless runs cut on site, no joints to leak. One thing we always sort is fascia capping aluminium colour matching so the new guttering doesn’t look wrong against what’s already there. (Getting that colour pairing wrong is the kind of thing that keeps me up at night, honestly.) I’ll admit we’ve had to talk more than one customer out of a cheap white profile on a grey-toned house front.

Fascia and soffit work

Gutters are only as good as what they’re fixed to. We replace rotted timber fascia boards with uPVC or aluminium-capped boards before any new gutter goes up. No point hanging good guttering off a board that’s gone soft.
