Cork Builders has been working across Cork City and the surrounding areas for years, taking on the kind of jobs that need real structural thinking. From groundworks up through to a finished build, we cover the full scope of residential construction work.

What we do

We get asked about loft conversions a lot. Dormer, hip-to-gable, mansard, rooflight, the L-shaped variant that suits terraced houses particularly well. Each one carries different structural load requirements, and we assess the existing roof construction carefully before anything else moves forward.

How we work

Right, here is the honest version. We do not take on more than we can manage well. Our team is based in Cork City, and we work regularly out towards Ballincollig, Blarney, and Blackrock. We know the ground conditions around here, the soil types, the drainage quirks, and where you are likely to hit problems with older foundations.

So we price straight, we show up, and we finish what we start. The structural side gets the same attention as the visible finish. Load-bearing walls are assessed using BS 5628 masonry code standards before any opening work begins.

Extensions in particular

We do a lot of extension work. A well-built rear extension changes how a house actually functions. We work in blockwork and beam-and-block flooring systems, and we use cavity wall construction as standard on external builds. No shortcuts on insulation values either.

Sizes vary. A modest single-storey rear can come in around 20 square metres. Larger wraparound schemes regularly run past 60.
