Daventry Patios
Patios, paving and garden work across Daventry and the surrounding area
First job I ever laid on my own, the base shifted after a week. Never again.
That lesson stuck. Every patio we put down now starts with a properly mixed 4:1 sharp sand cement bedding mortar, the right depth, the right consistency. No shortcuts on the foundation, because everything above it depends on it.
We work across Daventry and the surrounding postcodes, doing proper outdoor groundwork for homeowners who want it done once and done right.
What we do
- New patio installations on all ground types
- Porcelain tiled patios
- Indian sandstone patio laying
- Garden paving and paths
- Concrete flagstone installations
- New fencing and garden walling
- Artificial grass and turfed lawns
Right, here is something worth knowing if you are thinking of laying your own patio. Clay-bound soil moves. It swells when wet, it shrinks when dry, and on a sloping garden that movement pulls joints apart, lifts slabs and sends surface water straight back toward the house. Getting the falls right, cutting the drainage correctly, and bedding into a stable sub-base, that is the kind of work that looks simple until it goes wrong and costs twice as much to fix.
We have worked on gardens not far from Ryton Pools Country Park where the ground holds water badly, and the difference between a patio that lasts and one that sinks is almost always what happens below the surface before a single slab goes down.
So whether the garden is flat or awkward, we come out, look at it properly, and tell you what it actually needs. No fluff, no grand promises, that is not really our style. It is grand when a customer rings us two years later to say nothing has moved.
