Good question. Here’s what we handle:

Algae is a bigger problem than most people realise. Left sitting on tiles, it holds moisture and starts breaking things down faster than you’d think. We treat it properly, not just wash it off and hope for the best.

How do we work?

We show up, we take a proper look, and we tell you straight what the roof needs. No padding it out. If it only needs a clean and a moss scrape, that’s what we’ll say. Is there any point paying for work a roof doesn’t need? There isn’t.

We use low-pressure washing on older or more fragile tiles because high pressure on the wrong surface does more harm than good, simple as that.

What kind of roofs do we work on?

Pitched roofs are our bread and butter. Concrete tiles, clay tiles, slates, it doesn’t matter. We’ve seen roofs that haven’t been touched in twenty years, some of them grand underneath once we got the muck off, some of them needing ridge tile repairs before winter. Every job tells you something different.

The weather in Carlow does its own thing, and moss and algae don’t take a break. Getting on top of it every few years saves a rake of money on repairs down the line.
