The sealing is worth doing properly. We clean the roof first. We let it dry right out. Then we seal it. Do it the other way around and you are wasting your time and money, honestly (we learned that the hard way years ago, not our finest hour).

Right, the tile situation in Kilkenny is particular. Damp gets in under the ridge tiles. It lifts them over time. We repoint and re-bed them before small problems become expensive ones.

Moss comes back. We use biocide treatments to slow that right down. A treated roof stays cleaner far longer than one that is just scraped and left bare.
