A bit about us

Rain finds every weakness. I’ve been laying patios long enough to know that a poorly set fall doesn’t just look bad, it causes real problems fast. Back in Dublin, Irish rainfall teaches you that lesson early. We bring that same weather-aware thinking to every job we do here in Essex.

We’re based in Takeley and work across the surrounding area. Our work is straightforward: we plan it properly, we set the falls correctly, and we lay it to last. No shortcuts.

What we install

When it comes to patio surfacing, we work across the full range of materials. Here’s what’s available:

• Porcelain tiles
• Indian sandstone
• Concrete flagstones
• Block paving
• Natural stone slabs
• Granite sets
• Reconstituted stone flags

Each material has its own character and its own quirks. Porcelain, for instance, is unforgiving if the sub-base isn’t right. We’ve seen enough failed porcelain installs (usually done on a weak bed with no proper drainage channels) to know exactly where it goes wrong.

More than just patios

We also take on the wider garden work that tends to come alongside a patio job. Timber fencing, garden walling, paths, turfed lawns with roll-on grass. Artificial grass too, if that’s the direction you want to go.

It’s worth mentioning: a neat patio next to a tatty fence doesn’t really serve anyone well.

We like finishing the whole picture. A tidy result across the whole garden is what we’re aiming for, every time. Some of our regulars remind me of the supporters at Ballyboden St Enda’s, they know quality when they see it and they’re not shy about saying so.
