Essex weather does not forgive a bad base

Materials we trust

We work with good stone. Porcelain for low maintenance. Indian sandstone for character. We have seen Donegal quartzite take serious hard wear on driveways and patios that get hammered daily, and it still looks the part years on. We also use Liscannor flagstone on certain projects where the customer wants something with real texture and weight to it.

How we work

We survey the ground first. Always. Drainage matters. Falls matter. A patio that pools water after every shower is no use to anyone. (I once relaid a job another contractor had done three months prior, which tells you everything you need to know about skipping the groundwork.) We get the levels right before a single slab goes down.

Fencing, walling, and lawns too

It is not just paving. We put up solid timber fencing and block or brick garden walling. We lay turf properly, with decent topsoil beneath it. Artificial grass as well, fitted without lumps or edges lifting after six months.
